How We 3.5x'd a Pet Care DTC Brand Right After the Andromeda Update

The strategy, creative, and systems behind the growth

When this client came to us in August 2025, he was doing everything himself — running the ads, writing the scripts, approving every creative. He was working 12-hour days and barely keeping up. He'd scaled to $85K/month in Meta spend and hit a 2.5 ROAS in June, but by August everything had started declining. Spend dropped 40% and he couldn't figure out why.
His best-performing creative style ads had died, and he had no process for recreating them. He was launching two to three new concepts per week with random ideas — no structure, no angle testing, just hoping something would hit. In his own words: "I'm struggling with the longevity of ads and cycling new ads when old ones are dying out."
He'd tried hiring a creative strategist to help, who immediately demanded $6K upfront before producing a single ad. By the time he found us, he was burnt out, skeptical of outside help, and needed to hit $200K/month in spend before Q4 — at a point when he couldn't even hold $85K.
We built a three-pillar creative system to remove the founder bottleneck and install a repeatable process for finding winners:
- Market Signal Mapping: We extracted customer language from reviews, Reddit threads, and winning ad data — uploading CSVs into Claude to pull out exact pain points, emotional triggers, and failed solutions. In 30 minutes we had 12 solid angles backed by real customer language, not guesswork.
- Angle OS: We mapped every angle to a funnel stage — top, middle, and bottom — and planned multiple formats for each. For each angle we tested at least two to three formats so we knew whether it was the angle or the format that wasn't working.
- Learning Loop System: Every ad launched was logged in our creative tracker with angle, format, hook, and performance data. When we found a winner we compounded it — testing hook variations, swapping formats, combining proven elements. One combination of a winning hook on a previously winning format spent $34K at 3.1 ROAS.
- Grew monthly revenue from $235K to $750K in 120 days — a 3.5x increase
- Scaled Meta ad spend from $85K to $400K/month while maintaining target ROAS
- Ads launched in month one were still running profitably at month four
- Client went from working 12-hour days on creative to approving final ads once per week
- Media Engineered subsequently took over full ads management — and is now launching a second brand with the same founder
